The Sex Diet – How to Use Food To Maintain Your Libido

There are many things that life throws at you which can reduce your libido. Stress is one of the biggest factors and something that is hard to avoid in everyday life.

The truth is most people suffer from a dip in libido at least once in their lives. But the good news is that you can fix this and rediscover sex and your sex drive!

Understanding The Cause

One of the most common causes may be stress but modern medication also plays a huge role on your libido.

The prescription drugs aimed at treating cancer, depression or even arthritis can reduce your desire to have sex.

Overcoming The Issue

They say you are what you eat and this is certainly true when it comes to your libido.

It is important to understand that fat in your body will reduce the effectiveness of your nerve transmissions. This will make you feel less sensitive and you’ll find it harder to react to any stimuli, sexual or other.

In contrast alkaline foods can actually boost your libido, as well as improve a variety of other conditions.


Know Your Vitamins

Zinc is associated with the production of testosterone and general sexual health. Increase your levels of zinc will improve your sex drive. Vitamin C also plays a supportive role in sexual health.

In contrast vitamin B is excellent at reducing stress. Lowering the levels of your stress hormone cortisol will allow your body to produce other hormones and regulate your sex drive better.

Vitamin D is also extremely beneficial. While it improves bone, cells and organ health it can also boost your hormone production.

Increasing your sex hormone levels will improve your desire to have sex, your mood and can even increase your performance!


Foods You Should Be Eating

To maximize your sex drive you should be eating the following foods:

Goji Berries

These are known to increase testosterone levels, improving your sex drive and stamina.

Sweet Potatoes

The high amounts of potassium in these will help to reduce your blood pressure; reducing the risk or erectile dysfunction.

Avocados

This will boost your production of hormones as it is high in vitamin B6. It can also help to regulate estrogen levels; helping your testosterone levels grow and you feel in the mood for love.

Celery

By increasing your pheromone levels you’ll be more appealing to a female partner.

Oysters

One of the most famous aphrodisiacs in the world and with good reason. Oysters are full of zinc to boost your testosterone and sex drive.

Dark Chocolate

It is well known that a little chocolate can make you feel good. If you’re relaxed you are more likely to be in the right frame of mind for sex.

Ginger

Ginger is known to improve your circulation. This will help with erection issues and improve the oxygen flow round your body; increasing your stamina.

Watermelon

A substance is water melon, known as citruline, can relax your blood vessels and improve your erection. It works in a similar way to Viagra.


Foods You Should Definitely Avoid

Mint

Mint is known to reduce your testosterone levels; effectively lowering your libido. Choose something else for your bad breath.

Cheese

Unfortunately cheese is usually made with a bunch of synthetic products and hormones. These interfere with the natural production of hormones in your body lowering your libido.

Caffeine

Caffeine may make you feel more alert but it will also help to dehydrate you. This will make it harder for your body to respond favorably when needed.

Sugar

Sugar gets converted to glucose in your body. This is then burned for energy.

But if you have too much it is stored as fat, increasing your body weight and lowering muscle mass. Estrogen levels will increase while testosterone levels drop; as will your libido.

Alcohol

You already know that too much of this will affect your performance. But a little will help you to get in the mood and even talk to that special someone…
